To transfer your domain to ZoneEdit from Yahoo, you must unlock your domain and obtain the authorisation code from within your Yahoo Business Control Panel.
STEP 1. UNLOCK YOUR DOMAIN
1. To unlock your domain, log in the Yahoo Control Panel
2. Click EDIT DOMAIN LOCKING
3. On the following page, you'll see your domain lock status. Click UNLOCK DOMAIN
NOTE: Only the plan owner can unlock your domain. If you are not the plan owner, you will need to contact Yahoo.
STEP 2. RETRIEVE AUTHORISATION CODE
To transfer your domain to ZoneEdit, you'll need your authorization code. Here are directions on how to find the authorisation code:
1. Login to your Yahoo Business Control Panel
2. Click the DOMAIN CONTROL PANEL link under your domain name
3. On your Domain Control Panel, click VIEW YOUR AUTHORISATION CODE
4. Next, you will see your domain's unique authorisation code
NOTE: If you're a Website Services customer, you won't see this task. If you are not a Website Services customer, you will need to contact Yahoo Technical Support.
NOTE: Your Authorisation code will be sent to the Administrative contact of the domain so make sure the email address is up to date.
STEP 3. SUBMIT YOUR TRANSFER
After you complete the above steps, please go to our main homepage (ZoneEdit.com) and choose I WOULD LIKE TO TRANSFER. Put in the domain name and click on BEGIN.
STEP 4. CONFIRM YOUR TRANSFER VIA E-MAIL
After you submit your transfer request to ZoneEdit, we will send you an e-mail to confirm your transfer. Within this e-mail, we will provide a link to your account so you can log in and enter the authorisation code that you retrieved from your current registrar.
STEP 5. DONE!
If your domain is unlocked and the authorisation code is correct, your transfer should complete within 5 days. At times, current registrars send e-mails to confirm registrar transfers. If you receive an e-mail confirmation from your current registrar, please approve the transfer and your domain transfer should expedite to ZoneEdit. NOTE: ZoneEdit is provides domain registrar service via easyDNS. Your "registrar of record" will appear as "easyDNS Technologies Inc" and your Registration Reseller Partner will be ZoneEdit.
